A LETTER FROM THE
VICE PRESIDENT OF
MEMBERSHIP RECRUITMENT:

I came to college searching for a place where I belonged, and I found that home in Alpha Phi.
Little did I know how deeply joining this sisterhood and the extraordinary women within it
would shape my college experience and my life. As someone who is from out of state, Alpha Phi
quickly became my home away from home – a place where I feel supported, inspired, and
surrounded by women who lift each other up every single day.

Through Alpha Phi, I can truly say I’ve met not only my best friends and roommates, but my
sisters and future bridesmaids. As I approach my senior year, it’s bittersweet to think about how
quickly time has gone and how hard it will be to one day say goodbye to the family I’ve built
here. At the same time, I feel so fortunate to look back on these years with so much love,
appreciation, and pride. I know that this will never be a goodbye, but simply a see you later.

Going through recruitment at UConn was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. To
prospective members, my biggest piece of advice is to be yourself and enjoy every moment of
the process! Trust yourself, embrace the journey, and know that you will end up exactly where
you are meant to be.

My hope is that each of you feels the same warmth, sense of belonging, and joy when you walk
through our doors as I once did. On behalf of the Iota Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi, we cannot
wait to meet you!
